    This lecture would give give the audience a glimpse into how the Piano is maintained, restored, and why looking after a piano would involve a number of different technical specialists.

    Claudio Arrau was one of the greatest pianist of the 20th Century, and Professor Nye studied with him. Claudio Arrau's teacher was Martin Krause, Martin Krause's teacher was Franz Liszt, Franz Liszt's teacher was Carl Czerny, and Carl Czerny's teacher was Ludvig van Beethoven.
