    This lecture would give give the audience a glimpse into how the Piano is maintained, restored, and why looking after a piano would involve a number of different technical specialists. 
  • Gems from my time with the great Claudio Arrau: Ruth Nye, Professor of Piano at the Royal College of Music & at the Yehudi Menuhin School (click here for more)

    Claudio Arrau was one of the greatest pianist of the 20th Century, and Professor Nye studied with him. Claudio Arrau's teacher was Martin Krause, Martin Krause's teacher was Franz Liszt, Franz Liszt's teacher was Carl Czerny, and Carl Czerny's teacher was Ludvig van Beethoven.

    Jazz is an art form which had a very humble beginnings in America, but has since become a staple of Western Music Festivals and Concert Halls. At its best, Jazz is the ultimate blending of African and European musical sensibilities. In this lecture, you would learn about the piano's pivotal role in the performance of Jazz.
